Movies out this week
is this a banshee horror movie
My total synopsis of this movie in comparison to the first. I preferred the overall creepiness of the first one..but the remake WAS a solid effort. It really was. They added scenes that were in the book that were not in the first one in 1979. Very good character development as well.. Rob Lowe did a great job..equal to David Soul. The totally expanded the role of Father Callahan. As for the Barlow characters, I liked them both. The remake's character was more like the book but the Nosferatu like character from 79 fit so well. In either case, Barlow is not much in either movie,,even less in the remake, so it was a wash. Now,,,the weaknesses of the remake. First one...Straker...Both Donald Sutherland and James Mason are top rate actors, but the Straker character in 79 was FAR and mean FAR creepier and better than the remake. Even his death was better. The 2004 Straker was a laughing raving idiot. Mason's character stole the show in 79. The key Vampire scenes. FAR better in 1979. The iconic window scratching window scenes were the stuff of nightmares in the 79 versions. There were THREE scenes..2 with Ralphie and 1 with Danny. All of them were long , drawn out scary scenes. The remake has only one scene with Danny, and it's quick and very non scary. The scene with Mike Ryerson as a vampire in 79 was also iconic. Mike in the rocking chair floating up , The remake scene was horrible as Ryerson didn't even know who he was. It was a joke to be honest. Overall, I did like the remake alot and it had it's advantages...but the core creepy atmosphere and music make the original a cut above I believe.
One of my favorite movies
this has got the tim burtons alice in wonderlands audio, the actual movie has no speaking in it
Looks like a boring movie, no story.
inspirational film ...even though i have not seen the movie ...the trailer already tells me it will be a memorable piece of work.
I knew Pedro. He was a wonderful person and I miss him a lot. I still remember his funny laughter, silly jokes, soft voice and the cuban accent - he had hard time articulating words with sh, ch and s. Pedro spoke a lot with his eyes. Unfortunately the actor in the movie doesn't look that similar and many scenes in the trailer are taken directly from the RW show, like they are exact copies. anyway, Im glad that other people remember him too. This year it's been 22 years since the sad news and he was 22 when he died. My sweet Pedrito. Te extrano mucho... besitos, Mi Amor xxx
